Just a Warning [Aug. 26th, 2009|08:33 pm]
Waltham, Massachusetts

This probably doesn't pertain to most people on this site, and hopefully it is an isolated incident. We're in the process of moving, and I called my landlord to tell her we had some stuff left and would be all done by Friday. Well, tonight when we went back to continue going through some old financial papers, she had apparently given the ok to the handyman to go into the apartment. Well, that's great except he had gone through all the papers (with things like account numbers and social security numbers) and then put some of them outside. This is unacceptable. All the properties own by this landlord are on Robbins Street between Moody and Adams. We're paid through the first, so as far as I know she needed to call and let us know if she was sending in a handyman, and also to provide 24hrs notice of a showing. She has been fully informed that this was not ok.

Local Computer Repair Recommendations? [Aug. 3rd, 2009|07:24 pm]
Waltham, Massachusetts

My out-of-warranty Dell desktop PC just cratered -- Windows XP won't boot, says the system file is corrupted, can't start into safe mode, blah blah blah. (Thank goodness I realized it was behaving weirdly and backed my files up.) Are there any local computer repair shops that people have had good experiences with? Thanks.

There appears to be an anime store going in where Maxima used to be, across from Back Pages Books, but it's not open yet. I'm curious if anyone here knows more about it.

1 BR in Spacious House in Waltham, $750/mo + Utilities [Aug. 11th, 2008|04:22 pm]
Waltham, Massachusetts

I'm moving out of my current place in Waltham and my room is up for rent. It's a great room in a spacious, furnished house, and you'd be living with my fantastic roommate dharleenk  . There's a big kitchen that's great to cook in, a huge back yard, ample street parking all year round. It's right on the Watertown/Waltham line, and convenient to major highways, commuter rail, and the bus to Central Square. It's also walking distance from most stuff you'll need (groceries, good restaurants, liquor store, radio shack, pharmacy).

Available 10/1 at the earliest, 1/1/09 at the latest.

Full Craigslist post here, with pics.

If interested, you can reply here or to the Craigslist email address.

Hi:

I have a pair of tall Timberland boots I dearly love, that I need resoled (mind you, I don't even know if they can be). They don't make them anymore. Can anyone recommend a cobbler in Waltham?
